I just spent my $50 gift certificate at Barnes and Noble...
I got 3 great books. Lewis Black's "Northing's Sacred" George Lakoff's "Don't Think of an Elephant" and Mark Kurlansky's "1968: The Year That Rocked the World"

:woohoo: I'm so excited!

1. Great choices!
I take partial credit for recommending Lewis Black's book. :D

I haven't read Mark Kurlansky's 1968 book, but I recently bought it. I love his books (both Salt and Cod are great). I read everything about 1968 because it was the year I was born (and was a fascinating time in history). :D

4. I'll give credit where credit is due...
thanks for steering me in the right direction. When I saw him the other night on the Daily Show I couldn't wait for the weekend so I could go out and buy the book.

Everything I've heard about 1968 (the book, not the year) was very good, plus I'm obsessed with the 60's and RFK (in case you didn't notice :P) So now my only dilemma is choosing what book to read first

3. Do they sell CDs @ B&N?
Edited on Sat Apr-09-05 06:03 PM by Placebo
You should have totally gotten a good CD in place of one of those books. :D

Good book choices though!

5. B&N is overpriced in CD's
I like going to Princeton Record Exchange when I want to buy music. Tons of bargains and I get to support local business

6. George Lakoff's book is excellent!

I wish every DU'er and every liberal Democrat would read it. Some great points about using language in dealing with the right wingers.

I haven't read the other two. I do want to read Lewis Black's book soon.

Great choices! Enjoy. :-)
