Penn & Teller's "Bullshit". Anyone else like this show.
Its a bit harsh at times but I love the debunking and exposing of bullshitters.

3. It's hit and miss.
Sometimes they're dead on and sometimes they're full of shit themselves. Last week's on plastic surgery was just boring.

5. I've never seen them be full of shit...
While their conclusions might not mesh with my opinions too well, they're definitely pretty strong on that factual front - from what I've seen.

4. I do too.
I love their show - and their general magic/comedy shows. I don't always agree with them, but most of the time, I do.

And, I know they refer to the Cato Institute a lot. And it doesn't bother me. I have a lot more tolerance for libertarians than I do for full-fledged conservatives. I see them as fiscal conservatives mixed with social liberals. It's a tolerable combination - they can be reasoned with.

I've only seen the first season, but my favorite episodes were the Bible/Christian stuff, evolution/creation, love, alien abduction, PETA, and NDEs.

6. Overall, love it...

...though I could do without asshats like Larry Elder and Ted Nugent popping up.

When P&T are on, though, they're ON.

While they are "harsh" sometimes, more often they end on a positive humanistic message.

Like the very first show, about the John-Edward and van Praagh "talkers to the dead." The guy figuring out how he had been conned into believing his dead mother talked to him was sad. But at the same time it was a great illustration of how critical thinking works in real life.

Or the one about The Love Business, when they said (correctly) that we don't need advice from "pompous assholes" like John Grey. We just need to go out and meet real human beings until we find one with whom we have a mutual attraction.

One of the funniest ever was the show about Nostradamus.

7. Loved the first season
Second season tended to be nothing more than their pet libertarian screeds. I quit watching. It's a shame, because it really had a lot of promise. I *loved* one of the earliest bits, on New Age wackos; having worked in an occult shop for quite a while, that episode was practically therapy.

The episode on creationism, though? Comedy gold. And one of the best half-hours of TV ever produced.
