The pain wraps itself around me like some malignant cloak,
though I've been throwing drugs and alcohol against it since 3:00 this afternoon.

Almost 33 years. The first one a nightmare, then a bearable interregnum, then the last eight nightmare redux.

Fortunately, there's the backstop of Ambien, guaranteed to put an end to another Lost Night, if only for eight hours. But that will be enough.

Because tomorrow's another day, yes? I do look forward to it; it will be better than today was.

I believe this. I do.

7. I know what you mean my friend
10 years of ever increasing chronic pain, every day worse than the day before. Trust me I know and my heart goes out to you. I sometimes think there isn't anything I wouldn't do just to make it STOP for a few minutes.

But alcohol and Ambien do not mix. Big mistake. Please don't do that! Been there, done that, had to live with the consequences.

Find yourself a good pain management Dr. They exist. And they can help.

Khash.

8. I am sorry to hear that
It's outside the realm of my experience, but if it's anything like psychic pain, it must be a real bitch.

I hope you get relief soon. And do find a pain-management doc.

10. Thank you all. It's better this morning. And don't worry,
I don't use the Ambien every night, nor a lot of it when I do.

Just as a backstop, as noted, to shut everything off for seven or eight hours. I have a family so am not going to overdo things, no matter the amount of pain.

Thank you all again for your kind words and concern.
