What can I do with a company that's misplacing my checks? |
|
Edited on Sat Apr-16-05 10:12 PM by HypnoToad
I sent them a check a couple of months ago, they keep saying they never got it. Indeed, my bank confirmed no such check was cashed.
So I put a stop on it, which costs $30 and may not actually stop the check. (WHAT A JOKE) And mail them another check.
Just got another bill saying I haven't paid. :wtf:
I'm sick of this. I will not spend another $30 to cancel a check that somebody that isn't me is misplacing somewhere.
Hell, companies tell consumers they are not responsible for lost mail, so why should I be?
Sorry, but I'm beyond tired.
Thanks for reading.

2. Can you pay the bill electronically? |
|
It then becomes the bank's problem. They prove the sent the check, the company is forced to concede. Or at least, that's the way it's worked with our bank and Cingular, twice, now. That sucks, dude. Sorry...

3. Is it a recurring bill? Are they local? |
|
Like a phone bill. Don't cancel it... if they get it and cash it, it'll just count against the next month's balance.
If it's a local company, just walk it in there and raise some hell...

4. Send it so that when it arrives it has to be signed and you can tell them |
|
the exact date and time it arrived. I had a problem a few years back with a credit card company. No matter when I sent the check they told me it had come in late and they would give me a late fee. I started to send it that way on the same dates I had before and lo and behold it was on time after that.
