Photoshoppers: Besides just using it, what is the best way to learn Photo-
shop? We have a new computer and Mrs. V. got me Photoshop Elements 3.0. There's a lot to learn, and I can't sit in this got-damned chair long enough to learn by playing with it.

Is there a good book? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

4. i like the nutshell series books
but photoshop has a great help.
the best way to learn is to jump in. every project i do, i learn something new.
someone here on du posted this site-
http://www.photoshopcafe.com/
i haven't found the time to hang out there, but they liked it.
there is also a graphics group here. it's kinda slow, so it might take a while to get an answer. there are lots of chatrooms out there that are busier.
or you can do like i do, and call my nephew.

2. This book:
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Photoshop:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0789724243/qid=1113777981/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-9319462-6543923?v=glance&s=books

Don't let the title put you off. It's absolutely the best book I've seen on the subject, especially if you take the time to sit down with it and do the exercises.

Have fun!

8. Sleep with a graphic designer
then ask for instruction.

Okay, perhaps not an option for you.

Not that I necessarily need it, but I figure it'll give me some decent tips and tricks.
