Interesting global experience or frightening globalization ?
Earlier today I had to solve a repetitive problem with my Linksys laptop wireless network adapter. I chatted online with a rep, who told me to call Microsoft. I called Microsoft and amazingly got out of paying them. The guy in Bangalore, India (I asked his location) hooked me up with a female rep for Linksys in Manila, Phillipines. The echoes on the long distance phone call consult with both of them about drove me nuts, but the upshot was, sorry, go back to CompUsa and get a new adapter from them. I thought this was interesting to have an Indian male and a Filipino female talking to me (American) about my piddly laptop network adapter. Does this experience bode well for the American economic future ?
