...habitat loss due to land use conversions and other man-made disturbances are far more responsible for dwindling bird populations than feral cats. Want to really improve long term bird species' chances of survival? Shoot people, not cats.

are killing off ALL species in record numbers. Feral cats have existed with humans for thousands of years without causing species extinctions (do you think the ancient Egyptians neutered and spayed their cats-let alone kept them indoors when grain stores DEPENDED on them)? Songbirds are literally canaries in the coal mines..and now the coal mine is planet earth. The feral cat issue is just another RW attempt to place blame on something that is not related to their beloved megacorporations, developers, and coal fired power plants. I'm appalled that so many DUers have allowed their hatred of cats to blind them to the obvious facts.
