14 Year Old Arrested For Poisoning Music Teacher
<snip>

TAMPA, Fla. -- A 14-year-old middle school student has been arrested after a music teacher was poisoned with cleaning fluid slipped into her lemonade.

The Franklin Middle School teacher, Betul Nettles, 34, became ill and was treated at a local hospital, but suffered no other effects from the poisoning, Tampa Police said Tuesday. The female student was being held in the Hillsborough juvenile assessment center on the felony poisoning charge.

The girl told police she put the Sanford Board cleaner in the teacher's lemonade because she was angry that the teacher had not let her leave class to go to the restroom.

"What's disturbing about this is a 14-year-old would even consider harming a teacher, let alone poisoning her," said police spokesman Joe Durkin.

Durkin said the incident occurred when students were being dismissed and the teacher left a cup of lemonade sitting on the piano. After the students left, Nettles took a sip from the cup and immediately knew something was wrong.

Detectives were led to the girl by other students who said the girl poured cleaner into the drink as several of them were crowded around the piano.

3. Always the music teachers!
If they're not getting poisoned, they're sleeping with their students. (Or at least it seems it's only music teachers doing it.)

(Before you get out your flamethrowers, please keep in mind that I'm a music teacher, too.)

4. My music teacher
in Year 7 used to spend the entire lesson telling us about various automaticweapons he owned. And this was in Australia.

5. I just tell my 7th graders bad jokes.
Like this gem:

"Franz Joseph Haydn was not only one of the great composers of the Baroque period, but few people know that he also invented the classic children's game, Haydn Go Seek."

7. Groan
If you'd told me that joke you would have been terated to patented teacher destroying method of ripping various velcro attachments on shoes on and off for an entire lesson.

8. The best part is that most of them believe me!
Believe it or not, they pretty much all say "REALLY?!?" when I tell that one. Kids these days, with their hula hoops and their fax machines...

9. I suppose
the main thing is they are LEARNING and that's what counts?

Now, I wonder what kind of tricks Laura Bush used during her long and extensive teaching career?

6. Wow. The worst we ever came up with was putting dirt in the teacher's
coffee cup (just a little bit, and it wasn't me) when she would send us to get her coffee. Note to teachers and bosses...never send your students or underlings to get you coffee or something edible. Never accept anything drinkable or edible. I learned this from my dad. He never accepts these things from the people who work for him.
