So I'm most likely going to be taking care of my mom's cats this summer... |
|
Mom is going to be in North Carolina, so my dad and I (who are moving to a condo in St. Petersburg) are probably going to be handling the following cats:
A Persian, a silver tabby/Maine Coon mix, and a regular orange tabby.
The orange tabby was the only one my mom adopted after I moved in with my dad, and that cat is a: friendly and b: knows me because I still have some contact with my mom.
The two that worry me are the Persian and tabby/Coon mix.
Simone, the Persian, is an old cat who has apparently forgotten her housebreaking training, and I'm not too sure she'd react well to being moved into a condo.
Our mix, Lolly, was a feral cat as a very young kitten. She's shy, startles easily, and tends to hide from new people or situations, even though she was only "wild" for a few weeks. Again, not too sure she'd react well to being in a condo, although she's very well housebroken, so I hope she'll handle it better than Simone.
The male's neutered, so I'm not real worried about him, except that he's got his claws (the other two were declawed when we got them, about 10 and 5 years ago, before Mom realized how bad it was for cats). We're gonna need a scratching post.
Any advice besides getting a condo with tile floors?

2. Sorry, I can't help you. I'm a dog person. |

Why don't you post this over at the Pets Forum? Lots of cat experts there.
