Tonight's dinner: Homemade wheat bread & a big pot of veggie soup |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-20-05 07:13 PM by prolesunited
I was feeling very domestic today and the temps in the Chicago area plummeted about 30 degrees from yesterday.
What's on your dinner table tonight?

4. We had Digiorno last night |
|
We always dress it up with extra garlic, spices and cheese, though. Sometimes Jason will put pepperoni on half.
We're proof that a veggie and a carnivore can peacefully co-exist. :-)

Even when there is no meat.
That said, I look healthier than he does. All pale and goateed. Poor boy needs some protein. At least give him a wheatgrass shake. ;)

But they all are. Grilled butt steak RARE, a Yukon Gold potato with butter and pepper, and fresh shelled peas. In a month I can start getting the strawberry pie my farmers market has. Virtually the only sweets I eat.

22. I don't make the noodles from scratch, |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-20-05 11:18 PM by lavenderdiva
but I get them at an asian grocery store here. I use Rice noodles; you soak the dried noodles in hot water for about 5-10 minutes and that softens them. Then I add them to the veggie/shrimp mixture, and then add the sauce. I put in red onions, red and green bell peppers, carrots, sugar snap peas, and shrimp. The sauce has peanut butter, coconut milk, chili paste, soy sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. You top it off with chopped peanuts, cilantro, and chopped green onions. Needless to say, prep is a bitch. But it tastes oh-so good! I make enough for a couple of meals so the work is worth it. Yummy, yummy, yummy! (even if I do say so myself!)
Ginger Chicken with String Beans sounds scrumptious too! And I'll bet you didn't have anywhere near the kitchen clean-up I do! That's the best part-- no clean-up!
