ATA is not very helpful to me

Considering I haven't developed tinnitus as of yet, this program has never needed to help me. I would think that after so many years of abusing my ears with that loud Rock and Roll stuff, I would need them, but I don't.

1. Sometimes I Suffer From That...
only it's not the same "ringing" sound that one normally associates with bells. It's more like a constant high-pitched (very high pitched) electronic feedback sound. Most of the time it just fades into the background and I stop hearing it... like white noise... but other times it's very noticible.

4. I too have that.
It started about 6 months ago. I have tried stopping meds, taking less well I have tried everything except go to someone about it. (no, no please don't make me go) I guess it is time to do that because it is getting louder and sometimes it drives me nuts but like you, it often fades because my mind is occupied and I do not notice it as much. Still, it is very annoying.

5. Ginkgo
On the theory that increased blood flow to the cochlea will help. That's why the guitarist I play with takes it. (He certainly doesn't play too loud, but he's got a boatload of related medical problems, which is why we call the band Tim Mungenast and his Pre-Existing Conditions :-) Anyway, ginkgo promotes increased blood flow to the brain and head, which is in general a Good Thing.)

6. Incredible
really? Bless your heart Squeech. I am a musician, a classical one and my hearing had taken a real battering being in front of the brass section. I figured this was better than getting any deafer. I amk going to get some and try it. I don't have to play again for a couple of weeks, maybe by then I will be able to control my pitch better without the screaming in my brain. Thank you.

TM and his Pre-Existing Conditions really cute

7. This is good
My little "not so funny joke" is helping people out. :)
Honestly, I have thought I would have had some real trouble by now with my ears, but they have stayed in good shape so far and I think the loud music days are over anyway.

8. I didn't catch
the real meaning of your thread until after I posted. I thought about editing but didn't. ATA is a bit  these days.

9. Well
I saw some ATA threads that were locked and thought this would be kind of funny. Sometimes I think I am funnier than other people think :)

11. Had to see if you were locked yet, thanks for the laugh
Did you know that tinnitus is caused by an inner ear/nerve problem and the tone/frequency you hear is the part that got hurt? Since you can't "hear" that frequency anymore, your brain makes up the tone on its own. If you could percieve that tone, it would over-ride your brain so you wouldn't have the ringing at that tone. Bodies are cool

12. Sort of like
Re-sampling in a CD player. That is pretty cool. The body and mind can do some tripped out things.
