Arg! I have the song MacArthur Park stuck in my head.
Make it stop!

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down...
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! x(

And I didn't sleep last night, I was all excited about Boston, and I have to fly all night tonight, and I'm kind of nervous about that.
The last time I was on a plane I was about 7 or 8 and I don't really remember it. Bleh.

In Los Angelos!:applause: They've recently restored it.

As for the song...reminds me always of Freshman Year in College:beer:

5. "and (you'll)never have that recipe againnnnn. . .
OH NOOOOOOOOOO !!!"

definitely a leading contestant for dumbest song of all time.

So sorry.

Red eye flights can be most interesting. Have never taken one without enjoying at least one delightfully ridiculous conversation.

The only antidote I know of for overcoming fear of flying is to close your eyes and visualize yourself landing safely and having a really fantastic time. It's a matter of surrender in a way. And the bird's eye perspective one can often gain in flight is an added benefit.

Wishing you a safe and exhilarating journey and adventure.

And I won't remind you again what not to call me. :hi:

15. Well.....okay then...I'll share too....
Ahem....

See the tree how big it's grown
But friend it hasn't been so long
It wasn't big...

I laughed at her and she got mad
The first day that she planted it was just a twig.

And Honey, I miss you
And I'm being good
And I'd love to be with you
If only I could...

Or perhaps a little...

Here am I floating in my tin can
Far above the world
Planet earth is blue and there's nothing I can do...

Or this even...

You are so beautiful, to me
Can't you see....woa a woa...
You're everything I've hoped for
You're everything I need...
You are so beautiful...to me.

Have a nice afternoon...hi:

I recall the yellow cotton dress
foaming like a wave
on the ground beneath your knees
birds like tender babies in your hands
and the old men playing
Chinese checkers
by the trees...... don, don, don.......

all the sweet green icing flowing down

PAUL: Havin' my baby
What a lovely way of sayin' how much you love me
Havin' my baby
What a lovely way of sayin' what you're thinkin' of me
I can see it, face is glowin'
I can see in your eyes, I'm happy you know it

BOTH: That you're havin' my baby
PAUL: You're the woman I love and I love what it's doin' to ya
BOTH: Havin' my baby
PAUL: You're a woman in love and I love what's goin' through ya

PAUL: The need inside you, I see it showin'
Whoa, the seed inside ya, baby, do you feel it growin'?
Are you happy you know it? That you're

BOTH: Havin' my baby

ODIA: I'm a woman in love and I love what it's doin' to me
BOTH: Havin' my baby
ODIA: I'm a woman in love and I love what's goin' through me

PAUL: Didn't have to keep it
Wouldn't put ya through it
You could have swept it from you life
But you wouldn't do it, no, you wouldn't do it

BOTH: And you're havin' my baby

ODIA: I'm a woman in love and I love what it's doin' to me
BOTH: Havin' my baby
ODIA: I'm a woman in love and I love what's goin' through me

PAUL: Havin' my baby (havin' my baby)
What a lovely way of sayin' how much you love me

24. Here it goes....
Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl
With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there
She would merengue and do the cha-cha
And while she tried to be a star, Tony always tended bar
Across a crowded floor, they worked from 8 till 4
They were young and they had each other
Who could ask for more?

At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa....they fell in love

(Copa Copacabana)

His name was Rico, he wore a diamond
He was escorted to his chair, he saw Lola dancin' there
And when she finished, he called her over
But Rico went a bit too far, Tony sailed across the bar
And then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two
There was blood and a single gun shot
But just who shot who?

At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa....she lost her love

(Copa. . Copacabana)
(Copa Copacabana) (Copacabana, ahh ahh ahh ahh)
(Ahh ahh ahh ahh Copa Copacabana)
(Talking Havana have a banana)
(Music and passion...always the fash--shun)
*ahem*

Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl
But that was 30 years ago, when they used to have a show
Now it's a disco, but not for Lola
Still in the dress she used to wear, faded feathers in her hair
She sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind
She lost her youth and she lost her Tony
Now she's lost her mind!

At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa....don't fall in love

(Copa) don't fall in love
Copacabana
Copacabana

28. LOL LOL --OK,
FIRST, McPark was a contender in the Lounge Worst Song nominations, and THEN Carrie had to do it on American Idol that same night, and then YOU have to go and MENTION it again....!? Imagine Kermit singing this song and on the crescendo he has convulsions...and falls headfirst into the cake. Green on green finale.
(They asked Carrie what this song means and she said she had no idea, but isn't it a great song).

Here's a funny airplane story (true). I was on the inside of a 3-seat row. A woman who was drinking wine nonstop was in the window seat. My SO was in the middle seat, trying to sleep. There was abit of turbulence and altitude change suddenly, and the woman screams out loud, "We're Going Down!!!!" She grabs my SO in a vice-like grip with both arms. I instinctively grab my SO in a similar grip. My SO is a very patient unflappable soul. He opens one eye and says in bored tones, "yes, I KNOW we're going down, because Frisco is down there, and we are...LANDING." Then shuts his eyes.

30. MacArthur Park was a pretty scary place when I worked near it ...
I wouldn't leave anything there ...

Though the heavy drug scene might account for the lyrics!

It is actually a pretty place, but there was heavy gang activity all through the area, particularly Salvadoran gangs from the large immigrant community that settled in the area.

http://governmentvideo.com/articles/publish/article_424.shtml

In Los Angeles, a neighborhood known as the Rampart district is undergoing a dramatic revitalization centered around the improvement of the area’s MacArthur Park. Long recognized solely as a hotspot for drug use and gang activity, the 40-acre park near downtown L.A. is reaping the benefits of the Alvarado Corridor project, a combined effort of the community’s members, local businesses, government, and the Los Angeles Police Department.

According to Sergeant Ed Gomez of the LAPD’s Rampart division, the project was borne out of a community at its breaking point. “The park was a place known for drugs and crime in general, and people were avoiding the park at all costs,” he said. “We decided it was time to take back the park, and take back the community.”
In fact, the project was something of a grass roots operation, with the community members taking charge from the beginning. “The community is where the idea originated in the first place,” Gomez added. “They came to us and said they wanted a change. They were tired of being afraid in their own neighborhood, afraid to go to their own park. It’s like the ‘broken window’ theory — clean up the park, and the rest of the neighborhood will follow.”

32. Muskrat Love
Muskrat, muskrat candlelight
Doin' the town and doin' it right
In the evenin'
It's pretty pleasin'

Muskrat Susie, Muskrat Sam
Do the jitterbug out in muskrat land
And they shimmy
And Sammy's so skinny

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
Singin' and jingin' the jango
Floatin' like the heavens above
It looks like muskrat love

Nibbling on bacon, chewin' on cheese
Sammy says to Susie "Honey, would you please be my missus?"
And she say yes
With her kisses

And now he's ticklin' her fancy
Rubbin' her toes
Muzzle to muzzle, now anything goes
As they wriggle, and Sue starts to giggle

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
Singin' and jingin' the jango
Floatin' like the heavens above
It looks like muskrat love

La da da da da ...
