Tim Hardin wrote the song, and his version is better.

Rod's best songs are the ones with mandolins in them. Coincidence? I think not! (As it happens, I'm a mandolin player.)

I remember it being his third, after the eponymous debut album and Gasoline Alley.

But Allmusic also lists something called An Old Raincoat Will Never Let You Down, which I don't believe I've ever heard.

But yeah, I agree it's his best. And it's the mandolin that makes it. (Well, and the overall rollicking ambience of the title track.)

"EPTAS" is about the only Rod Stewart song I like.

7. My parents just saw him in Atlantic City
I got them tickets; they LOVE Rod, the old stuff and the new. They had a great time. :-)
