Today I learned that God gave us the Christian Right to punish us.

I learned in an essay written by myself that the theocratic, Christian Right -- Dobson, Falwell, Robertson, etc. -- is actually God's punishment to us for our laziness, ignorance and unwillingness to spend money on education so kids can learn the truth about things.

1. I'm sorry, some folks think that's Okay, education doesn't need

so much money; just keep the kids from hurting one another, baby-sitting, not Education.

We are falling way behind what other children receive in other countries.

4. That Dobson, Fallwell and the rest of that ilk are okay
or in general some folks think that their teachings are okay and that is why we are in this mess? I'm confused.

5. Exactly. People want cheap education.
What the buddies of the BFEE keep preventing taxes of any kind. "Cheap education is okay." The adults of this country are failing the next couple of generations in more ways than just one.

Sorry I wasn't clear earlier.

6. Totally agree
I'm an educator and administrator. There are no easy answers to anything especially when dealing with some sort of monster like kids who come in all shapes and sizes, different cultures, belief systems, etc...There is no magic bullet answer to anything especially matters of faith. Those who say x is the cause of y without any sort of scientific data to back up what they are saying are using religious dogma to play a role in definining the universe in an arena that needs to remain non-religious out of respect for all of the other belief systems that exist. I do not have a problem with religious folk or people of faith in general. I have a big problem with self-righteous bigots that continue to promote ignorance and instransigence as part of public policy. If they want to do this on Sundays or everyday in their homes, so be it, but keep it out of my life! People need to stand up to these idiots!

7. Amen!!!
The parents also take advantage of their children in the name of "teaching them to function economically" which I wouldn't mind so much except that it takes precedence over EVERYTHING ELSE. So I get tired, stressed out, confused kids, many of whom are IN DEBT, for cars, and clothes, and the prom etc. etc. etc.

AND compared to what many other countries are doing, TOO MANY American kids are getting SHORT-CHANGED on their educations. I get a little tired of all of this "One Nation Under God!" blah, blah, blah, blah meaningless BS, when the basics are such a JOKE for so Many. While we give people who buy hummers $25.000. tax benefit.

WE ARE OIL-FUTURES!

And remember, take this lesson from the Fundies: If you have the same thought twice, that makes it the truth!
