need recipes for Smoothies? got any....
I need to get more fluids into me and the Dr suggested i make smoothies, well ok, but .... i don't know how. duh.

call me foolish ...

help?

1. here's one
strawberries, bananas and grape juice. Blend until smooth.

I use a package of frozen strawberries (thawed) 2 bananas; put them in the blender first, then fill with white grape juice.

Basicaly, any fruit combination you think would be good can be blendered into a smoothie. AFAIK, anyway.

For just getting more fluids, without the bother, I pour half a glass of grape juice and add half a glass of water. It's a change from just water, when I get tired of drinking water (which I do pretty much all day. I have a plastic bottle that I carry round, and refill as needed.)

I'll try the smoothie recipe ! And i'll try adding some protein powder to it (yuk) and see if i can get both fluid and protein.

that would be cool...

We always just used ice and a blender, and whatever else. I like smooth-tasting smoothies, like banana...

By sheer coincidence, I too (doctors orders) need to up my liquid intake by a considerable margin. I always thought that if the body needed liquid, it would tell me (ie: get thirsty). WRONG, and I'm paying for it. I'll head down to Pike Market in a few days or so, and stock up on the makings.

thank you and good luck with the fluids! I just had surgery and i have to really get in protein and fluids. easier said than done :)
