I just filled my car up
Edited on Fri Apr-22-05 10:21 PM by tammywammy
a 2001 Cavalier.
I had gotten 415.8 miles on that tank, it took 12.879 gallons to fill it up.

That equals a good 32.3 miles per gallon.

:woohoo:

I know I could have a car that would do better, but this is pretty damn good.

edited to change gallons to miles.

2. I get ~21MPG
My previous one ~25MPG.

Oh well. At one point we'll both have 0MPG.

4. I'm saving up for a Beetle TDI
They opened a biodiesel station over in Ft Worth.

Also, I do mostly highway driving.

5. I had cheap tires and would get around 24-27 mpg
even keeping the tire inflation sweet. I got some Toyos, a set which cost close to $500, and my mileage has gone up to 30-32 mpg.

Who knew?

9. if you keep your speed even-eliminate stop and go keep your tire
pressure within specs, keep your care tuned and have good compression with all cylinders firing, you should be good.

Mostly freeway driving can really boost your mileage...

10. Well, it's been mostly highway for a couple of years now
And, I never check my tire pressure, or get it tuned or anything really. It's lucky to get the oil changed on time everytime, and a wash every couple of months.

Just these last two weeks, it been an extra 50-60 miles per tank. Weird.

7. So how much ya paying for gas in your neck of the woods?
For me, it's ROL 32,889/liter, or about $4.50/gallon.

8. I paid $2.08/gallon tonight
It was a Race Track, which tend to be cheaper, but I usually avoid them. Sometimes those cheaper places add stuff to the gas. I usually go to this Texaco near my house, because I know the owner and he's such a nice guy.

11. We're getting ready to join the big price club
I think we can thank GWB for a lot of this.

My gas, mid grade (89 octane) cost me $2.579 two days ago. Washington State has higher prices due in part to a devasting pipeline explosion near the Canadian border a few years ago.

12. Hey -- I lived in Seattle 25 years ago . . .
And have nothing but good memories of the place. Everything always freshly washed, everything always green -- the leaves on the trees, the grass on the lawns, the algae in the shower . . .

Is it still the same?

17. I have a 92 Honda Civic
and I bought it new in Nov 1991. It has 65,500 miles on it. I think I drive an average of 4900 miles a year. It still stings though. It's all relative...

18. Thats so ironic....
...my wife and I just got finished talking about her car. She went to a quilt show about 2 1/2 hours away today, and came back. I asked her how the car did. She said "great as usual". She has a 93 Civic. We've gone through tons of other cars that I've drove, and yet, that 93 Civic keeps going along. Its a tank. :)

14. That's why I'm saving for a TDI
not only is the mileage better with diesel, but then I also plan on using mostly biodiesel.

16. Gas prices edging toward $3/gallon here (N Calif)
It's robbery but to take the bus to work would cost $60+ per month.

:(
