2. Do people who take communion get sicker than people in general?
Edited on Fri Apr-22-05 11:01 PM by WatchWhatISay
I was noticing at the mass for JPII, when the priests were serving communion, that they place the wafer on the person's tongue.

Having just finished a course in microbiology, I was wondering about the potential for spreading disease while serving the wafers.

7. I would think you would have to attend church
much more often than masses are offered to have a need for a low-carb communion wafer.

Santorum might need them though. He ought to turn his senate office into a giant confessional.

6. At church during Christmas Mass
my youngest asked my wife what she had in her mouth after taking communion. Since the boys are being raised Jewish, he didn't understand so she explained it all to him. He turned to my inlaws in the pew behind us and told them he was glad he was Jewish. Then he told them "mommy's breath is BAD!"

I am waiting for the communion wafer/breath-strip concept. Different flavors could be good.

Right after Christmas, I saw a stand up comic do a routine on this.

Sour cream and onion communion wafers
Nachos and Salsa communion wafers

I forget the rest, but it was a good routine.

8. My question about wafers was what if they go bad
I mean body of Christ and all. Do they throw the stuff out if it gets moldy? And what are the theological implications of this?
