2. GD is the "Maury" of DU.... |
|
And ATA is "Cops"; both guilty pleasures in the voyeuristic sense, I guess.

4. I had a nice sparring match in GD tonight |
|
But I usually go there out of the lobby. I don't lurk there.

6. Actually, I was thinking of posting there more often now... |
|
I mean I came here to the Lounge with my little tail between my legs because I was such a neophyte when it came to political ideas and it was so easy to intimidate me the hell away from there when some big bad wolf decided to attack my motives or intentions...
I'm interested in knowing the basics of how people think and come to the conclusions they do, and my skin is much more thicker now, plus nobody can laugh at me more than I do myself...
wish me luck when I take the plunge but I do think the fear factor is overrated...

I mostly read over there to see other points of view, but I hardly post there.

7. Why would I want to avoid them |
|
If I can't handle a disagreement on a liberal discussion board then maybe I should just get out of politics all together. Sometimes I feel GD strenghtens me for the real world and the real shit going on in this country.
Hell, you want to see conflict - just go to the Pennsylvania forums where it's a battle between the Caseys vs. the Chuck Ps

8. Do you listen to every multi-level marketing pitch someone gives you? |
|
Same difference; it's a matter of protecting your time.

...and posts are redundant. Its like Soap Operas. You can miss a month, then go back, and pick up right where you left off, because they're saying the same thing.
On Edit: I actually like the Latest Breaking News thread more than those because people seem to be giving more spontaneous reactions as the news breaks. So it seems that people are giving more of their instant thoughts, which are probably less contrived.
