Am in Seventh grade. Ask me anything!
I am in seventh grade in Hicktown U.S.A. I have band, no other elective, and my P.E teacher wants to strangle me every day. I also have good friends that think I'm funny.

The food tastes pretty bad, too.

1. Hi, Amanda.
P.E. teachers can be a pain, can't they. :D

So, what's your favorite piece of jewelry and who gave it to you?

12. My favorite piece of jewelry is my ring
It is black hills gold, decorated with little leaves on the band. My mom sorta gave it too me when I was obssessed with The Lord of the Rings. It looks elvish.

2. I hated seventh grade
I hated eighth grade. And I hated ninth grade. I also hated high school, but not as bad as I did middle school (or what we called junior high back then).

Life does get better.

I hated school too - always likened it to a penal institute. Graduated H.S. and never looked back. People who are into H.S. reunions are beyond my comprehension. Oh well, takes all kinds I guess.

3. How did you get so smart?
When I was in 7th grade I couldn't talk well let alone express myself in the written word.

14. Well, I did many things
The main things I did do were read, write, and listen to my Mom.

Also bugged the heck out of my Dad when I was little to tell me how things were made.

29. Do you help your Dad fix things around the house?
My wife did that when she was your age. Helped her learn a lot of practical things.

I was very impressed to meet a woman with a complete set of tools who knew how to fix things.

Edited on Fri Apr-22-05 11:45 PM by tammywammy
I had a really good friend in junior high that played the alto sax, she loved it. When we got to high school she got in the jazz band and was really awesome.

Banned.
When I was in 7th grade I was always in competition for first chair percussionist.
What do you play?
Music isn't age selective.

6. Same question I asked previously
Does your handle refer to your name, or to the song by the band "Rank & File" (a 1980's cowpunk band)?

I only ask because their album Sundown was one of my favorites & I saw them live several times.

Have you ever heard the song "Amanda Ruth" by Rank and File? It is from one of my all time favorite albums.

13. Umm, Hicktown, USA...
... that's in Godforsaken County, Alabama, right? :)

I guess what I'd like to ask is: how many kids you go to school with are sort of straight-up salute-the-flag, Bush is great, kill-the-ragheads types as opposed to the kids who are more politically aware and understand what's happening today, just in rough percentages?

Cheers.

24. Hmmm... I have to work with a few...
Well, Bushies are about 98% while the good, smart people are about 1%, while the 'I do not care' people *COUGHLIBERTARIANSCOUGH* are about 1% as well.

Hicktown, U.S.A is in Washington State. It is one of the several Hicktowns through this country. Kinda like Springfield, but more hickish...

23. That's about the age I started getting into Politics
and also my question - isn't it past your bedtime?

Anyhow, glad to see more of our kids with progressive thoughts, even those from Hickstown U.S.A (which btw, I'm an alumni of)

25. No. I have no bedtime
What is this strange and frightening bed-time you speak of? Surely I have no bedtime.

Actually, I have no bedtimes on weekends, just have to be in my room by One o clock in the morning. On weekdays I go to bed by ten.
