I'm going CRAZY trying to get my new email account set up! Help!

I'm using Thunderbird (Mozilla) and this thing keeps asking for my password whenever I "get mail" or try to send something. Can anyone help? Mrs. V. usually covers this stuff for me, but she is in dishwater up to her elbows.

Edit: Oh, yeah: I have a new email account because we just got cable internet.

call your cable company, this has something to do with having a password with your cable company. I went through this a few months ago when I bought a new computer. My email said the same, cable said this was not their problem, well, finally someone with a brain came on the line at cable, she fixed the problem.. It is your cable company.
