I'm seeing a radio oncologist Monday. Sore throat for a couple months, trouble swallowing. Coughing up blood and all that crap. Had a biopsy Thursday, won't know results 'till Monday, but my ear nose and throat guy says he's 90% sure it's throat cancer. Squamous cell carcinoma, stage II or III. Gonna try radiation only. I am going to beat this, but I'll take all the help I can get!

I was given a death sentence 7 years ago and I am well today. Please, keep the faith. Learn all that you can about alternatives, as well.

I went to Mexico and received Gerson Therapy at Hospital Meridian. Was cancer free in less than 5 weeks, on this therapy. It is very difficult to stick to, but was well worth it for me.

Most of all, try not to be afaid of cancer. It CAN be cured, and in my opinion very easily.

My mom was diagnosed with leukemia over three years ago and it's been the most active, feel-good time of her life. Plus the emotional side - we've never been closer...they call it the "perverse benefits of cancer" - it helped us in a weird way to get past all the meaningless bullshit and just enjoy each other, period. And she's in remission, so fuck the nay-sayers (including her doctors - who were wrong).

31. A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with

a papillary carcinoma of my thyroid. Rare, but treatable. I am sure yours is bit more serious. Is this cancer known for mestatizing? If not, I'd bet radiation is going to beat this. I had major surgery to remove the 2cm tumor, total thyroidectomy and radiation. It wasn't too unpleasant but rough nonetheless. The radiation is no big deal if you can stand the isolation. Doctors can do amazing stuff these days with cancer. It is NOT a death sentence! Good vibes going your way.

:hug: Radiation therapy is tough. The single best piece of advice I have is, if you can't eat and they suggest a feeding tube, go for it--the struggle is easier if you aren't also starving. Also, don't try to be tough. Take care of yourself...and request liquid morphine.
