Does anyone else have this album? Steve Jones

I think this was one of the best albums released in the 80's, but I don't think many people bought it. Do you have it?

1. Is that the Steve Jones I think it is?
What the hell is with the George Michael look?

No, I don't own it; however, I did enjoy his work with Iggy in the 80's

2. Yeah...that's him
The Iggy album was "Instinct" I think. Good stuff.
I saw him on his second album tour. He rocked.

3. He was really channelling Billy Squier there.
I might have to put aside the laughable cover art and give it a listen.

4. Well, it WAS the 80s..lol
I am always thankful I didn't fall for that 80s crap.
The album is pretty good. It isn't what you would expect from a Sex Pistol, but I really dug it. It is very melodic and he sings with almost a baritone, Elvis Presley-like sound, but it's pretty cool.
He put out another one a few years later called "Fire and gasoline" that was much more harder rock. But "Mercy" was and is to me a great fucking record for a man who helped change a lot of people's view on Rock and Roll...mine included.
When I talked to him after his one show I saw, I asked him why he didn't do anything off of this album and he said "That was a different trip man". I guess...LOL. He was a different trip.

6. great title song. and yes i have it.
"Mercy" was used to great affect in a miami vice show as soundtrack to a scene where american lead contras destroy a nicaraguan village and murder a priest. about the best thing i ever saw on tv up to that time mixing sound and sight.

"stone"s war" was the name of the episode and it was close to the best MV episode.

7. Mercy is a great song
I was impressed with Steve's tunes on this album. I also think I remember them using this stuff in Miami Vice.

9. I've got it, but I was never wild about it
A couple of good tracks, but that's about it. If you wanna hear him REALLY play, get Iggy Pop Live at the Channel. That just plain ROCKS.

10. I have "Instinct" but no live stuff
I can understand why someone might not like "Mercy". To me it is a very melodic and straight ahead album. "Fire and Gasoline" was much more harder, but I like that one also.
