Jurassic Park. Good or bad movie?
I recall the time they found those fossilized mosquitoes
And before long, they were cloning DNA
Now I'm being chased by some irate veloceraptors
Well, believe me... this has been one lousy day

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone shut the fence off in the rain
I admit it's kinda eerie
But this proves my chaos theory
And I don't think I'll be coming back again
Oh no

I cannot approve of this attraction
'Cause getting disemboweled always makes me kinda mad
A huge tyrannosaurus ate our lawyer
Well, I suppose that proves... they're really not all bad

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
What a crummy weekend this has been
Well, this sure ain't no E-ticket
Think I'll tell them where to stick it
'Cause I'm never coming back this way again
Oh no... oh no

1. The last time I watched it
I was amazed by the special effects being so unrealistic. I kid. I found the acting not too solid and as a movie, it wasn't too great. It is a lot of fun to watch, though.

2. I wouldn't know, I slept through the second half.
That sleep was almost as good as the zzzz's I got for the last two hours of Lord of the Rings I. During the part I saw, I would say that the movie was nearly a total abomination. I say "nearly" because the Jeff Goldblum character, the "chaos theory guy," was just hilarious. I credit his acting for that. What a stupid fucking movie. Plus I hate dinosaurs. Used to melt my plastic ones with a blow torch...but that's for another thread.

:hi: I do like your poem/song. It's excellent!

3. Great movie
It's a lot of fun. And for 1993, the special effects are pretty good. They're still quite realistic.

Not every night watching a movie has to be fucking "The Last Emperor" - it's fun!

6. Jurassic Park was a technical breakthrough in Special FX.
Being a computer animator, I guess I'm more keenly aware of it's significance. Just as TOY STORY was the first, feature leangth, CG movie; Jurassic Park (1994 by the way) was the first movie to sucessfully intergrate realistic computer generated elements into a live action film. It was the film that proved it was technically possible, and computer generated elements have dominated the FX industry ever since. I remember the phenominon, people were absolutley convinced that those dinosaurs were real.

12. The book WAS better
I don't say that "to sound smart" - the book is almost always better than the movie. And when you have as much technical detail as Jurassic Park did, you can convey it better in a book.

The book was rather a thoughtful piece about the arrogance of man thinking he could control and harness Nature. The movie was an action adventure. I enjoyed it but it was an entirely different experience.

9. The first one is fun....
I still enjoy it after all this time....

The Second's and Third's though ugh... and I expect the same god awfulness from the fourth.

10. I really liked the First One
The sequels were not needed but I was very interested in the original.
But I guess that's b/c I am amazed by dinosaurs and which they were still around.

13. great movie! . . . and book!
absolute escapist fun! i consider the book one of my all time favorites just for the entertainment factor. i love most of michael crichton's books (but not his 'there is no global warming' opinions).

you have to look at these films as pure entertainment, not as art works. the movie and the book definitely are different but i think each stands on its own, mostly because the endings are so different (movie ending was a total copout . . and meant to beget sequels).

i have read the book several times AND seen the film as many. i even liked the sequels. after all, i can't be serious ALL the time!

oh, i guess i should mention that i'm a big sci-fi fan. :woohoo: :woohoo:

15. I differ in opinion here
It sucked for me. Too plastic for me.

Sound effects were good, however.

I haven't it since the one time, and I am not inclined to watch it on tv or rent it.
