Month #3 - No Job
Nearing the end of my first trimester w/o a job. Out of 300 applicants, my last interview (the third one) came down to me and some other dude, and he won. Mondays are the worst. If anyone has anything inspiring to say, I'm listening.

Should I sell my CA condo and buy a nice spread in a red state?

JD

9. Ride it out before you go the temp route, then
Keep looking, stay positive. I know, easier said than done.

I have a relative who just got work after being in the shits since December. It is no fun...

10. Keep looking I have been where you are at
and I know its discouraging but you will find something. Hell the last time I was unemployed my unemployment check was so low that I ended up being able to collect food stamps. I was so desperate that I ended up putting a application in at the local porn video store. (Not that I have anything against what consenting adults want to watch but just imagine some of the creeps I would have encountered.) Then it struck the perfect job. I ended up working at the local Harley plant giving tours and working in their small museum. Now I am making 20 bucks an hour, unionized and some of the best benefits going and I am now assistant curator to the museum.

11. Congrats Lenidog
I like your story...thanks for sharing it.

If you don't mind my asking...what was your UE check paying? Minez $450/wk but that doesn't go far in SoCal.

12. Mine was $210 a week and that was coming off of a job that was making
me 13 dollars an hour. PA sucks when it comes to UE benefits. Add insult to injury a friend of mine is unemployed at the moment and they are taking 2.5% off her checks because they say funding is low.

As to the rest no problem. I know it gets discouraging. I sent out countless resumes and applications and never got replies. Just keep swinging.
