Ever feel scammed by a credit card company?
I have. My Sears MC added a "small" charge int he amount of $55-68 over the last several months for "Account Care". I called them and had it stopped. I NEVER signed for this, and never would...is supposed to be for just on case I drop off the face off the earth type thing.

Anyway, yesterday, one of my best friends called me and was pissed...guess what?!? Sears MC had done this to her, too, and she also NEVER signs up for those additional "care" charges.

So, any of you have this problem? Is this a scam by Sears MC?

Also, got a letter from them the other day. I have the opportunity to "opt out" of the upcoming and new APR of 19.3%...a jump from the 12% I have now. If I choose to "opt out", my card is closed and I will still have to pay off the card through monthly billings. Am getting a balance transfer on a new card that is 0% for 16 months, and 7.4% APR after that.

Fucking credit card companies! :banghead:  :banghead:

small or zero interest rate on balance transfers has become a sport for me. I loves fuckin' wit da credit man!!!
The best part is, I ALWAYS pay my debts, usually faster than they want me to, which means they can never really dick me around.

edit: additional comments.

2. here is my deal with sears
I used to have a charge card with sears but didn't use it for many years then out of the blue I recieve a new sears card with a m/c logo on it and a huge credit line.

So I call them on the phone and tell them I didn't authorize or request this card and they told me that they arbitrarily sent it to me. I told them that I didn't want it and they told me that I couldn't have my plain old sears charge anymore.

My argument was that anyone could use this card anywhere besides sears and charge to the moon and back. They didn't see this as a problem so I closed my account right then and there and I told them that they didn't offer me a choice and I don't want their c/c

Done with them

3. Wal-Mart sent me a card, and I did the same thing
Apparently, my old and closed Monkey Wards card/account was summarily sent to Wal-Mart card company after Wards went bankrupt. I had closed that account before that bankruptcy happened, and only thing I bought on it was a new dishwasher...paid it off and closed the account.
I told WallyWorld to go fuck themselves

5. good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have worked real hard the last four years to pay off any debt so I don't owe anything but my mortgage and I will be damned if these bastards will get one penny of interest from me.
