10. Why would you want to mow that early?
The grass has to be all wet and dewey. You tend to make a big mess and the lawn looks like shit.

5. I had one that used to mow at 2:30 a.m...
I'm dead serious, he would also mow and sing "Strangers in the night.."

He was plain crazy. He had a driveway easement on a portion of my parents property at the time and thought that meant he could rip ass his car across any portion of their lot he chose, whether on the driveway or not.

So, my parents naturally began feuding with the a-hole, and this was his sort of revenge. The Police didn't think it was so amusing.

6. this whole family is nuts, they are semi quiet but they do strnage things
like letting their 4 1/2 year old son play outside on the street by himself. Whenever i see their boy alone i tell him to go in and the mother looks like she wants kill me.

18. We had a neighbor who let their 22 month old play in the yard alone...
and when he got taken away, she was sooo surprised. We had to take their puppy back to their yard several times, and we'd walk up, and no one would walk out to meet me. I could have taken that kid and no one would have known. Scared the crap out of me. He was a sweet kid, but his mother was a drunk.

19. i worry about their little boy, he has speech problems
and some other issues and he's out all by himself a lot during the day, he across the street and then down so like 10 hoses away from his own house. I've gotten in the habit of going out front every so often and checking to see where he is.

20. This one has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome...
It's really sad. I'm sure his mother is only repeating the behavior of her parents and their parents and so forth. In this area, people in her economic situation and background don't have a prayer.

11. Why? How about trying the neighborly approach, first,
and asking him to wait until later in the morning to mow the lawn.

I swear, some people are very quick to call the cops for everything.

16. i went out to get my paper but i talked to him
right as he was about to pull the rip cord on the gas powered and oh so loud edger. He said he's gotten a second job, "Sorry, no other time to do it" I told to please give us all a break and i told him i'd edge his front lawn my self later today, it's small and i don't mind, plus i edge better then he does. So he's gotten a second job so i'm guessing things are pretty tight.

21. He's interfering with your job of taking care of your child.
There's no reason your child's sleep (and yours) should be interrupted by this person. He is beyond inconsiderate.

23. He might have a point then
You probably don't want him mowing at 11 p.m. We have a part time guy at work who used to work full time for us and at another full time job. He worked with us from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or later) and then from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. at another place.

22. It is the only thing people understand.
I have had a noise problem myself and I tryed the neigborly approach. The guy basically told me to "fuck off" I told him I would call the cops if he didn't stop. He said "call them". I did. He stopped.

8. I'm sure there are noise ordinances in your town.
plese check them. Most towns are something like 8am-11pm. then the next time he gets out with a mower at 5:30 call the police and have him ticked. Then get up early on the weekend and start your mower as soon as legally allowed.

Chip some old golf balls over there when he's not home. That'll fix him.

9. There was a thread a while back, about making cops do their job
It was about a break in, in which people were breaking into someone's garage or toolshed or something a couple of days ago. Here's the gist:

So the homeowner sees people breaking into their property, and they call the cops. The dispatch operator says, "sorry. No one is available. We can't get there for another hour."

So, they hang up and wait a few minutes, then call back.

"Hey dispatcher, it's ok. You don't have to send the cops, because I just shot them."

Five minutes later, the fuzz arrives en masse (like six cop cars or something) and they catch the burglers red handed. The officers say to the homeowner, "I thought you said you shot them."

And the homeowner responded, "I thought you said no one was available."

15. Very easy solution to this...
...Just go get a bag of marbles tomorrow or the next day, and spread them on his lawn- scatter them.
