For Sundog: Compare Shakespeare to modern plots of movies
It is said that the compiled works of Shakespeare cover all the basic plots one can concieve of within story writing. Compare modern stories (movies) to the plots of Shakespeare and see if they have come up with anything new.

8. Throne of Blood
A Japanese flick form the 60's was a cover of Macbeth - new ground? Not really... setting was merely changed, not plot.

11. That was my gateway into Akira's work
Hooked on that by coincidence the Detroit Art Film Theater just happened to be running a Kurosawa retrospective that did the rest of the damage.

19. shakespeare was an extension of 'the greeks'...
thus there can be no doubt. these things are well ancient & old.

'the bards' greatest of happenstance; the issuance of his mother's womb so as to say, is that he were born whilst with both: brain & britain; wherein it is found a language strung with so fine a utilitarian lexicon to have expressed all, each & every other nuance specific to the human experience other than that what were being put forward by j.s. bach in music imo

"the world must be people'd!"

the names, faces & indentites may, or may not have been changed to protect the innocent (or, for that matter: the guilty); but shakespeare is fully transferable into whatever time-line within which humans may then endeavor again imo

do not ask me to explain 'bad santa' or why that dweeb left: angelina
