Darion Barker didn't respond well to the prodding when he was asked twice to move his truck blocking a warehouse loading dock.
Instead of leaving, Barker pulled a 50,000-volt electric cattle prod out of his rig and chased the warehouse worker across the parking lot, Aurora police said Wednesday.
As Barker ran after the man Tuesday night, he repeatedly flicked the trigger of the device, sending bursts of electricity between electrodes at the tip, police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said.
The 26-year-old worker escaped without injury after another worker at the Kraft Foods warehouse called police, Ferrelli said.
Barker, 42, of South Elgin, Ala., surrendered and was charged with two misdemeanors, aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He remained in custody late Wednesday, unable to post 10 percent of his $1,000 bail, authorities said.
The altercation in an industrial area on Aurora's west side began about 10:35 p.m. Tuesday when Barker was asked to move his loaded semi away from a dock at the warehouse, Ferrelli said. A warehouse employee asked him again about 20 minutes later to move his truck, touching off an angry response from Barker, Ferrelli said.
