3. A quote from Karl Rove |

"As people do better, they start voting like Republicans - unless they have too much education and vote Democratic, which proves there can be too much of a good thing"

11. I think it's because smart people are democrats |
|
;) My brother and I just had a discussion about this. He was complaining that college professors have a liberal bias (maybe they do, but I still make most of them look like Hannity), and I pointed out that highly educated people tend to be democrats...he called me a member of the intellectual elite, i told him he was a neocon whackjob...he called me a bitch...I said I was telling mom and it basically disintegrated from there:P

Any professor who forces a student to think about an issue using reason and logic, instead of just repeating what he's been told, will now be open to a lawsuit. Oh yes ... that will be great for higher education! :eyes:
Isn't it the job of a college professor to get students to think, open their minds and learn? If you're not interested in that, why go to college?

6. Did they even go to college? |

Quote from the article:
While promoting the bill Tuesday, Baxley said a university education should be more than one biased view by the professor, who as a dictator controls the classroom, as part of a misuse of their platform to indoctrinate the next generation with their own views.
Do Florida colleges and universities pair one professor with one student for four years? Except the football players, who get five?
edit to fix glitch in pasted text. at least it wasn't spelling, dammit. dammit still passes the chell check.

9. You make a good point. |

College students don't have a single teacher throughout their time in college. Most will have six or more in a single year.
I've had in a single year conservatives, liberals, moderates, unknowns, et cetera. I wasn't "indocrinated" by any them. They did, however, encourage me to think for myself. Go figure.
This theory that professors are somehow implanting ideologies is insulting to any free-thinking college student. There's simply no evidence to back up the theory.
I'm still waiting for the Weekly World News headline: "MY PROFESSOR TURNED ME INTO A LIBERAL."

7. Don't think you're safe outside of Florida |

Inanity may start here, but it spreads far and wide. The last idea floating around the Fla legislature was a proposal for a high-school type proficiency test. Like those morons have a clue of what proper college curriculum would be. Intelligent design in a college biology course? If anyone needed evidence that the Republican party is dedicated to the lobotomization of the American public, this is it.
You realize that students can get a degree from a public university in Florida with only business, education, or nursing classes. In elementary ed they sing Mary had a Little Lamb and do the Hokey Pokey. What do you suppose the leftist slant on the Hokey Pokey is?

8. Unfortunately, my state has become a microcosm of the United States |
|
Jeb Bush is doing to Florida what the shrub is doing to the US, only it's much more noticable down here cause it's much more concentrated.
Jeb stole the 2002 election using the same computers that put the shrub in office in 2004. I'm sure it was a trial run for his brother.
As a Miami native, I can promise you guys we will reclaim this state. Some day. One day. Hopefully soon.
This is where the bushit started in 2000, and this is where it will end.
