Company Wants To Bury People Standing Up In Body Bags

SYDNEY, Australia -- Some Australians could be going into the next life standing at attention.

A company called Palacom has won approval for a cemetery where the bodies will be buried standing up.

Palacom director Tony Dupleix said the vertical burials will save space and minimize impact on the environment. He said customers will be returned to the earth with a minimum of fuss.

The burials will be of the no-frills variety, using a simple body bag rather than a casket.
