iPod Mini problem. All you Gurus....Help! |
|
Just got a new iPod Mini. Connected it to PC (my NEW Mac Mini isn't up yet...haven't felt well). Anyhow, was downloading from Audio CDs and all seem to be going well except the readout on the iPod a day later still says DO NOT DISCONNECT.
Battery appears to be charged.
Any help greated appreciated.

2. Click the eject button |
|
on the bottom right corner of iTunes. Depending on your settings, it will require you to click that button before you disconnect.
If that doesn't work...off you go to the iPod Lounge.

3. Thanks, stil having probs. I tried eject button and the CD tray |
|
opened. That was it. Still says DO NOT DISCONNECT.
Went to iPod Lounge, which is good, but still couldn't find the solution. I think I will just wait until I set up my Mac Mini and then use the iPod.
In the meantime, can I disconnect it from my PC (Dell)? I am lost.

you'll have to reset the iPod. Which means you'll lose all the songs you've got on it. That's not a big deal if you've got it all in iTunes, you'll just have to reload everything.
However, I'm not exactly sure what disconnecting it will do, I've never had to do it. Perhaps try turning the iPod off, then back on?
When I first got my iPod I also had a Dell...but then immediately went running for an iBook. Welcome to Apple-land, you'll love the mini. :)

|
Cube Older PowerBook and my brand new not installed Mac Mini
I used to do Mac support, sales...just about everything. I got the Dell when I had my business. Just disconnected the Cube about a week ago, and bec of my illness, will have to wait til I feel better to install it.
So excited about the mini! Ipod is for my husband.
Thanks for the info.

so you're saying I've been trying to help a Mac-pro? That's rather laughable, since I've had my first Mac for all of 2 weeks. :)
Hope you figure out the problem...and get well soon!

The iPod is totally new to me, hence the ignorance.

that you should know better. Actually, I figured I was sounding rather stupid with my "hit the eject button" or "turn it off" suggestions, lol.

No problem. When I reread my post about being in Apple-Land, I can see where I did sound really stupid. Hey, never said I was good at my jobs...LOL! Actually I was, but to tell you the truth, since I have been w/ a chronic illness....nothing has been the same.
Don't worry. Didn't take it personally and yeah thanks for the help you Mac Newbie..

10. Make sure your Ipod is selected (highlighted) |
|
in the list on the left before clicking the eject. It should then allow you to disconnect the ipod without issue.

Check your owner's manual on how to reset (I forget right now). Good luck!
