Gimme a line from an Elvis song, baby.
:P

Hide in the kitchen, hide in the hall
Ain't gonna do you no good at all
'Cause once I catch ya and the kissin' starts
A team o' wild horses couldn't tear us apart

1. Only fools rush in
Wise Man says
only fools rush in
but i cant help
falling in love with you

shall i stay
would it be a sin
if i cant help
falling in love with you

like a river flows
shorely to the sea
darling so it goes
somthings are ment to be

take my hand
take my whole life too
for i cant help
falling in love with you

like a river flows
shorely to the sea
darling so it goes
somthings are ment to be

take my hand
take my whole life too
for i cant help
falling in love with you

for i cant help falling in love with...... you.

7. Not a line, but one of the best Elvis tunes...
My Boy

You're sleeping son, I know
But, really, this can't wait
I wanted to explain
Before it gets too late
For your mother and me
Love has finally died
This is no happy home
But God knows how I've tried

Because you're all I have, my boy
You are my life, my pride, my joy
And if I stay, I stay because of you, my boy

I know it's hard to understand
Why did we ever start?
We're more like strangers now
Each acting out a part
I have laughed, I have cried
I have lost every game
Taken all I can take
But I'll stay just the same

Because you're all I have, my boy
You are my life, my pride, my joy
And if I stay, I stay because of you, my boy
Sleep on, you haven't heard a word

Perhaps it's just as well
Why spoil your little dreams
Why put you through the hell
Life is no fairytale
As one day you will know
But now you're just a child
I'll stay her and watch you grow

Because you're all I have, my boy
You are my life, my pride, my joy
And if I stay, I stay because of you, my boy

8. Here's a Saturday night one...
A little less conversation, a little more action please
All this aggravation ain't satisfactioning me
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark
Close your mouth and open up your heart and baby satisfy me
Satisfy me baby

Baby close your eyes and listen to the music
Drifting through a summer breeze
It's a groovy night and I can show you how to use it
Come along with me and put your mind at ease

A little less conversation, a little more action please
All this aggravation ain't satisfactioning me
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark
Close your mouth and open up your heart and baby satisfy me
Satisfy me baby

Come on baby I'm tired of talking
Grab your coat and let's start walking
Come on, come on
Come on, come on
Come on, come on
Don't procrastinate, don't articulate
Girl it's getting late, gettin' upset waitin' around

A little less conversation, a little more action please
All this aggravation ain't satisfactioning me
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark
Close your mouth and open up your heart and baby satisfy me
Satisfy me baby

9. lord almighty I feel my temperature rising
Higher higher
It's burning through to my soul

Girl, girl, girl
You gonna set me on fire
My brain is flaming
I don't know which way to go

Your kisses lift me higher
Like the sweet song of a choir
You light my morning sky
With burning love

Ooh, ooh, ooh,
I feel my temperature rising
Help me, I'm flaming
I must be a hundred and nine
Burning, burning, burning
And nothing can cool me
I just might turn into smoke
But I feel fine

Cause your kisses lift me higher
Like a sweet song of a choir
And you light my morning sky
With burning love

It's coming closer
The flames are reaching my body
Please won't you help me
I feel like I'm slipping away
It's hard to breath
And my chest is a-heating

Lord almighty,
I'm burning a hole where I lay
Cause your kisses lift me higher
Like the sweet song of a choir
You light my morning sky
With burning love
With burning love
Ah, ah, burning love
I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love

10. Kentucky rain
Seven lonely days
And a dozen towns ago
I reached out one night
And you were gone
Don't know why you'd run,
What you're running to or from
All I know is I want to bring you home

So I'm walking in the rain,
Thumbing for a ride
On this lonely Kentucky backroad
I've loved you much too long
And my love's too strong
To let you go, never knowing
What went wrong

Kentucky rain keeps pouring down
And up ahead's another town
That I'll go walking thru
With the rain in my shoes,
Searchin for you
In the cold Kentucky rain,
In the cold Kentucky rain

Showed your photograph
To some old gray bearded man
Sitting on a bench
Outside a gen'ral store
They said "Yes, she's been here"
But their memory wasn't clear
Was it yesterday,
No, wait the day before

So I fin'ly got a ride
With a preacher man who asked
"Where you bound on such a dark afternoon?"
As we drove on thru the rain
As he listened I explained
And he left me with a prayer
That I'd find you

14. Here's a few lines.....

Maybe I didn’t treat you
Quite as good as I should have
Maybe I didn’t love you
Quite as often as I could have
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time

You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Tell me, tell me that your sweet love hasn’t died
Give me, give me one more chance
To keep you satisfied, satisfied

Maybe I didn’t hold you
All those lonely, lonely times
And I guess I never told you
I’m so happy that you’re mine
If I make you feel second best
Girl, I’m sorry I was blind

You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Tell me, tell me that your sweet love hasn’t died
Give me, give me one more chance
To keep you satisfied, satisfied

Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You are always on my mind
You are always on my mind

23. Here I come to save the day!
Actually, that was Roy Hallee...and then Andy Kaufman, who -- let's bring this full circle -- parlayed his Elvis fixation into a successful act that -- let's turn that full circle into a double helix -- caught the attention of, and garnered the approval of, Elvis himself. Glad we got that cleared up...

Elvis was great in the '70s. If you know anything at all about the man you'll perhaps see that he really was mixing and melding the same basic influences at the end of his career that he did so stunningly at the start (blues, country, black and white gospel traditions). He may have changed in some ways, and may have made millions of dollars by then, but there's a strong continuity that's visible throughout Elvis' recorded legacy from "My Happiness" to "He'll Have To Go."

As for that f***wit Chuck D, who bought into one of the more stubborn and fallacious of Elvis myths, he later clarified his thoughts about Elvis by saying that Elvis never meant much to him because his influences were more direct from a prior generation of musicians....in other words, he said, he and Elvis probably gained inspiration and musical form from the SAME people. Of course, this doesn't change the fact that Chuck D's a misinformed f***knuckle who's best 'musical' output isn't worthy of licking the sweat from the armpits of Elvis' "Confidence" from the Clambake soundtrack.

Elvis was a legend in the '70s...but he was a god up there on that stage and a vastly more effective musician in the studio than the uninformed would credit.

chuck d wrote his own lyrics

elvis stole his music from black folks

who's the fuckwit now?

have you ever actually listened to public enemy? goddammit i'm so tired of that bullshit, people who don't know a single thing about hip hip coming off on some self righteous criticism of it. elvis didn't write his own music; what the bomb squad did was ART.

why is hip hop held to such a higher standard? how many of the "classic" artists of the 50's actually wrote their own music? pratically none of em (and most of it was stolen from black folks anyways) and yet people dare have the audacity to question hip hop's musical qualifications?

get a clue

32. does it have to be mutually exclusive?
i like some elvis stuff, i was just being a smartass

i just don't understand why people think it's ok to vociferously attack hip hop every chance they get

if i attacked any other genre with the vigor and general mean spiritedness that so many on here attack hip hop with i would probably be run out of the lounge and thrown on a thousand ignore lists

why do people feel like that just because they don't like it, they have a right to belittle it in every possible way that they can, forgetting that there are some of us who love it more than anything, and to be honest it kind of hurts to see a bunch of people who are supposedly open minded and tolerant individuals turn into a bunch of fucking assholes

it happens way too much on here and it's hard to ignore; just like for some, criticism of elvis is hard to ignore

why is that so difficult for so many people to understand?

chuck d represents the voice of a generation and a powerful voice at that. he challenged the system and the power structure in a way that few ever had before. you'd think people on here would be embracing him. randi rhodes and mike malloy? they are republican lite compared to how far chuck took his message and how he absolutely refused to shut up. he should be a hero to progressives and liberals, not vilified.

35. I don't dis any musical genre or artists on here
I might have said I didn't like a few different people, or their music, but I don't think I have ever singled out any type of music as "crap".
I was just sticking up for Elvis here. I am only familiar with Chuck D by name and I am not familiar with his music.
I'm not a fan of hip hop, but I think it is as valid as any other entertainment out there. I personally think it is wrong to disregard any type of music just because you don't listen to it. It's all good.

53. No
Usually I throw them across the table.

If you're accusing me of being a mere keyboard warrior, hiding my wimpy self behind the vastness of the ether, you're dead wrong. I'm hardly violence-prone, but I'll happily and handily tear an antagonist to shreds with words if they keep pushing certain buttons, mine or those of someone I care about. And if I make said antagonist frusrated and mad enough to want to hit me, then I've done my job. And if they actually did try to hit me, well, that's when I'd beat the ChuckD out of them.

I actually have far more control, usually, in person...emotional control beyond all rational limits, to tell the truth (I can make Spock look like a hothead, at times, at least when I'm driving some angry adversary to apoplexy)...but I've had about enough of certain things these past couple of rough years and my tolerance is way down, to record lows. I'm almost hoping to stumble into a confrontation of biblical proportions (you needn't bother applying, though, because you're just not epic enough an opponent). Bad time to be f***ing with me, though, really. I'm kind of like Joan Crawford with PMS right now, only considerably bigger and far less shrill.

all of this anti hip hop rhetoric is pretty tiring and it is exactly the same as the anti rock'n'roll rhetoric that was around when elvis and the beatles were out
