Jogging update. I sprained my Goldarned Knee! |
|
Edited on Mon May-02-05 12:16 AM by UdoKier
My running days may be behind me. I had been running for a couple of weeks, trying to get my weight back down when suddenly my knee started to hurt for no apparent reason. I ran for a minute or two more and saw that it wasn't going away, and I walked the rest of the way home.
After several days, it was actually WORSE, although there is almost no visible swelling or bruising. Getting around is very painful and difficult, and surprisingly tiring. I really feel a lot more sympathy for people with mobility problems. It's really tough. But I also know that rehab is crucial and that it's important to make use of what mobility you have.
I will have to stick to bicycling and maybe start swimming?

1. Swimming is great exercise |
|
AND it's good therapy for the knee. It's what I had to resort to after my knee injury ended my running days.

2. I hope I can find a pool close by. |

I used to swim all the time as a kid, and I loved it.
The last time I swam, I was amazed what an exertion it was. As a kid, it seems so effortless!

I thought of "general discussion" when I first saw this thread?
*sorry*

you might be a addicted to DU"
Be sure to read that with Jeff Foxworthy's voice in your head.
