1. Oh come on! You can't throw Paul Lynde in there and not skew
the results!

There are reasons I loved both The Match Game and Hollywood Squares.

2. Rip Taylor.
I would laugh like hell when Rip Taylor was on a show. Maybe it was the copious amounts of confetti he used in his act. :-)

4. It was great-looking on TV,
but IRL, screw that shit! I'm still pulling confetti out of my coat pockest from a show I went to last year. (Not a Rip Taylor show - that would constitue bragging rights, not a prolonged annoyance.)

6. Rip Taylor used other props in his act.

Some comics can get away with using props...some can't (Gallagher leaps to mind on that one...and I use the word "comic" very loosely when describing Gallagher). Rip Taylor made it work to great comic effect.

Yes, confetti can be messy. Sorry that you're still pulling it from your pocket.

But it does add that extra something to a performance. :-)

8. Yes, Gallagher and Carrot Top
should have to wash Rip's feet after every show. His ability to make the most inane shit *hilarious* is dumbfounding.

Check out this still of him from the Dukes of Hazard movie:

I'm sure the movie's rubbish, but I'm LMAO at that pic!

5. He's a mess!
Then he'd pull out a rubber fish with a hole in it "Holey Mackerel"!
