1. Thanks for the heads-up,
but I'm having no luck downloading that trailer, from your link or any other. So what's the verdict? Does it look good?

2. I wish I could say
I posted before I watched, but I can't get the right plug in for it.

Sorry everyone.

5. I couldn't see it with Explorer
so I used Safari instead. Got the extra large version-very nice! If you can use another browser, you might be able to see it.

Soundtrack seems promising too (unless that's a scratch track-on every film I've worked on, the soundtrack was never completed this early). I guess Disney regrets their LOTR decision and is trying to compensate, lol!

3. Looks great!
very reminiscent of LOTR-just with a brighter and more varied palette. Lewis and Tolkien were close friends, of course (both members of The Inklings). Somehow I never really got into the Narnia series, even though I've read every book. I think the Christian allegory just felt a bit forced to me. Still, I'm really looking forward to the films!

6. I wonder though . . . even with the allegory, how long it'll be until the
fundies start yelling because it has witches and magic and creatures that look like the legendary satan and such.

13. actually, many of the Christian schools recommend it as
outside reading. Remember, Aslan represents Christ...there will be some off the wall folks that will go ballistic over it but even some of the more conservative ones will lie low on this issue.

It is considered Christian reading...lots of good messages in it anyway.

7. It's been so long since I read the books
I was in elementary school when I started reading them, and I'm sure I read them pretty quickly... so, I don't even remember the Christian allegory. Now that I'm 38, I'm sure I'd have a different perspective.

After this all they need to do is have Peter Jackson do the Dark Tower series. (properly, of course).

Edit: the visuals in the trailer are awesome

9. Wonderful! Trailer looks GREAT!
Woo-Hoo!

First trailer of the first movie of the series and it looks great!

Appears as though director and producer team will stay true to the heart & soul of books if not to precise details (much like LoTR).

Children (great casting in them, btw) leaving London during bomb runs, Mrs. MCreedy, Prof. Kirk. Caught a quick glance of Tumnus and Lucy in the woods... Tumnus looks wonderful!

I was very happy that I couldn't tell in clip if Aslan was real or digital or both which bodes well.

Maybe this will prompt a new generation to pick up this wonderful tale and read it again for the first time.

Happy Days!

(Can you tell I'm excited?)

10. Aslan was entirely digital
but he was very well done (former Disney animator here- I notice such things, lol)! WETA has an amazing CG department, and it looks like they are more appropriately assigning scenes and characters to the correct animators with this film (noticed in LOTR that many "B" scenes of Gollum had "A" quality animators working on them, and vice versa- from the Narnia trailer, it looks like the animation supervisor has got things straightened out now). :-)

12. They have two Naria "featurettes"
one about the director, and one about WETA's work on the film (look under "Disney").
