Moving help (not help moving)
Alright so here's the deal. I'm moving from Minneapolis to Tucson and I have a queen sized bed that isn't going to fit into the full-sized van that we are using to move all the stuff. Where the hell do I go to have a bed shipped across country? How much is this going to run me? I just bought the bed like two months ago so I don't want to just junk it, any suggestions?? Thanks

1. I'd suggest selling and buying a new mattress
when you get there, and break the bed down for shipping.

Failing that, I'd guess the furniture store where you bought it would know how to ship big stuff cheap. Give them a call.

2. Rent an additional very small trailer to pull behind the van.

Then, put the bed and any additional stuff you have in there. The small trailers rent for really cheap, especially if you are already renting a van.

Edit: By cheap, I mean like $20/day. That's much cheaper than shipping it.

4. I thought of that
but we are going to be pulling a car. Maybe I could pull the trailer behind the car that is being pulled by the van :)

5. wouldn't I get
really really horrible gas mileage that way? The bed is almost 3 feet thick (the box spring and mattress). Maybe I'll tie it to the top of the car (it's a tiny little Saturn though).

6. I honestly don't know
how if would effect your gas mileage. I imagine towing another truck would be bad too.
