4. Fuckin' A...
... amazing.

$50K in about ten or eleven days. As I recall, this all started on about April 28th.

I'm feeling very strange right now, because the word I get from my home today is that things don't look very good at all for my mother, who's probably dying of cancer and in a couple of weeks I will soon be out there for the foreseeable future. She's got all the insurance she needs. Money isn't an issue. But, she still wants a little more life--no difference than the rest of us, and no different than Andy, who's got the potential for a lot more years ahead of him.

All of you great people just presented Andy with that potential. You can all walk around with your heads up high for quite a while. :)

Don't forget that Andy's gonna need a little walking around money after this is over and he's back home. I'm sending another check to his home address soon. Those of you who can still do the same should, too. Those of you who gave and can't give any more, be proud of what you did for someone who understands what democracy is all about.

Fuckin' A.

9. It's always so difficult
I once had the opportunity to interview a very elderly woman. We began to speak about death and she told me, "Everyone has to go through it in their own time and in their own way. I've been so afraid of not dying well that I've put it off for a number of years."

I think my mother felt the same. She was given six months after her cancer diagnosis, but ended up sticking around for two years. May your mother also have the benefits of stuborness and procrastination until she is ready.

16. Thanks for that...
... and also thanks to the others for their kind words, too.

This time, I'm not so sure. This is a reoccurrence of something that came up several years ago. I'm not sure how much stubborness she has left in her. *sigh*
