You didn't know my neighbor, but I will miss her

My neighbor passed away suddenly this morning. It's a long story and I'm sure everyone has experienced the loss of a good friend so I won't go into details. But she was a staunch Democrat and worked in JFK and RFK's campaigns during her college years. I am surrounded by right wing neighbors and I am just so saddened by the loss of this woman who has been a real inspiration to me and has mentored me in many ways. It was so wonderful to be able to walk next door and talk to her about current US politics and have her share her wonderful stories from the 60's and 70's. Her house and mine were the only ones out of about 100 that had a Kerry sign in the yard this year. We mourned together when the election was lost. She didn't have internet access and she never knew about DU. But I wanted you to know about her. Her name was Donna.

was a staunch union Dem and was always onhand at the town office as an election official (usually checking people of the list)

I am very sorry you lost this good neighbor of yours, and thank you for sharing your memories of her with us.
