Have you ever made a Voodoo Doll?

And WHAT HAPPENED??

Alright, my fifth-grade friends and I had one too many days of "Ms. Geppago". She was mean. Teachers today absolutely cannot get away with that sort of humiliation. Never. They'd be sued. She'd pointed us out and given us the works with her erudition and scorn.

So, we decided to take matters into our own hands. We created a voodoo doll. At my house. I drew a likeness of her (we had no hair or fingernails, anything like that) but we cut it out of stiff paper and lit the left foot on fire. We stuck a few pins in her. We were satisfied for the time being.

When she didn't show up the next day, we were wet-your-pants- scared. Four of us, assuming we'd KILLED a teacher. Four sobbing and shaking 5th-Graders looking at each other accusingly. Confessing to our parents. Holding call-meetings to discuss how we'd rectify the situation.

What we wound up doing was to distribute the "remains" of the doll between us, and have no more talk of ever doing another doll again.

And she was at some PTA thing in Tennessee.
