you can take with you: one book, one album, one person and everyday handtool.

What are your choices?

2. Hmmm...
Book: some field guide illustrating edible/non-edible plants
Album: Depeche Mode, Violator
Person: my wife
Tool: saw (My initial reaction was to say hammer, but any good-sized rock will work as a hammer. A saw is what you'd really need if you wanted to do some construction.)

5. spurious choices
Edited on Tue May-10-05 01:46 PM by stellanoir
the book: the very obtuse esoteric treatise by Alice Bailey called "Glamour, a World Problem" just for obtuse perspective and humor .

the person: the Dalai Llama

the everyday handtool: swiss army knife 'cause I don't leave home without one

on edit- forgot the album- soundtrack to the film entitled "Until the End of the World" (the film sucked) for intensely personal reasons but it's real versatile

My Dave Matthews Acoustic mix CD

David Cross would be my personal jester.

Everyday handtool? A lovely vibrator with an endless supply of batteries. :D

12. Book--"How to Survive on a Desert Island",
Edited on Tue May-10-05 01:49 PM by calico1
tool--a swiss army knife, I guess
person--Jackie Chan--because he can get out of anything! :-)
album--if you mean picture album I suppose I would take that with me. If you meant record album, what good would that do me without a record player? Unless of course I could use it as some kind of tool!

Edited on Tue May-10-05 01:53 PM by underpants
I wouldn't take my wife because I wouldn't want her to be worried about being stranded. The Encyclopedia is for making a fire. The Boston Whaler would be hidden for a respectable amount of time

ON EDIT- I would take Mitch Album to bust open coconuts with his massive cranium.

14. Okay ...
Book: Portable Beat Reader. Kerouac, Ginsberg ...

Music: One of the Live Bonnaroo CDs so I can close my eyes & imagine I'm there.

Person: My boyfriend, John. He's handy & pretty cute.

Tool: Machete. Definitely not an everyday handtool, but John has one & would insist we take it. He'd finally have a use for it.

17. The book would be some kind of survival guide.
The tool would be a machete. I don't know what I would do with an album on a desert island. The other person would be Angelia Jolie.

18. Here goes
If I'm stranded I'm gonna have a good time...

I assume since we get to pick an album we have something with which to play it.

Bartenders Guide to Mixed Drinks (there's always booze on these islands)

A mix album(cd) as long as it has "Atomic Dog" on it

I would like to have my family there but since I can only have 1, I wouldn't want to split them up so I guess it would have to be Elizabeth Berkley, there would be people sent to look for her and she could perfom "Showgirls" live as entertainment until we were rescued.

Barrel Bung Wrench: Because it's such a cool name and I'd get to say "It's a Bung Wrench" over and over to Elizabeth Berkley.

21. My take on it...
One Book: "Pocket Ref" by Thomas J. Glover (Has everything in it)
One Album: Some '80s conglomeration.
One Person: Some gal who isn't afraid of 1) Snakes and 2) Spiders.
Everyday Handtool: Satellite Phone. (May not work out with One Person.)

22. Book: Edible Plants of the XXX Islands (wherever I am).
Edited on Tue May-10-05 02:01 PM by Brotherjohn
Album: David Garza - This Euphoria (though truth be told, any album would get old after a few weeks)

Tool: Swiss Army Knife (suitable for a thousand uses, most important of which would be carving hooks and spears for fishing)

Person: The Professor, from Gilligan's Island (he could use the Swiss Army Knife to rig up the CD player, which I'm assuming we'd get to play our album, into a transmitter; we'd be saved, because Gilligan wouldn't be there to mess it up)

25. book: Snake Bites
because it just came in the mail.

album: makes no difference, since I didn't get to bring a player for it.

person: MacGuyver, of course

tool: swiss army knife.

I'm certain that if I give the swiss army knife to MacGuyver and stay out of his way, he'd be able to build an airplane to fly us out of there within two hours, no problem. :P

:hi:

Is the spelling MacGuyver or McGuyver? I dunno, but the tv guy who always whipped up implausible functional things to get himself out of tight situations. That's who I want to bring along.
