I hate like hell buying new cars, and I hate paying the monthly bill, and I hate the higher insurance bill.

But the Prius is nice.

1. I want a Prius :(
But I really can't afford it, and my credit sucks so I'd end up paying high interest if I bought one :(

I'll stick with my Nissan for now I guess.

4. Well, at least you've got a Nissan
The only other new car I ever bought was a 1987 Sentra. Nice little jackrabbit, until I got T-boned in it. That accident scared me into an old Volvo with shitty mileage.

Sorry about your bum credit. May time heal that wound.

7. This is my second Sentra :)
My first was a '94, this one is a 2001 SE :)

I like it.

2. Oh a friend of mine has a Prius and she LOVES it!
I've ridden in it and it's way cool.

6. It's fun so far.
I'm afraid of backing over a neighborhood cat in the morning, though, since the damn things don't make any noise when they're on electric power.

3. I really wanted to get one, but there was such a long waiting time
and I needed a car RIGHT NOW. So I got a Mustang convertible.

:-)

But my good-stewarship environmental self also wants me to get a Prius.

8. It is! But it doesn't have the mileage of a Prius.
On the other hand, the Prius doesn't have the power or the removable roof.

:-)

Congrats on your new car, I am so jealous.

Pea green I tell you.

10. Thanks. I lucked out - live in Portland, which has received a
generous allocation of Priuses since the beginning. My wait period was only two months, and I was able to buy from a dealership that advertises on the local Air America affiliate.

Best to you!

13. Lucked out?

In the Sacramento area, I had less than a week's wait for the right color. Wife picked it up just Monday. Got it for $100 less than the Costco price.
Sorry GM & Ford (this is the 1st non American car for me).

22. Thanks, swag, and have you been to priuschat.com?
Its kind of like DU for Prius owners, with forums for maintenance, mileage, etc. . . .

15. You're going to love it!
It's like a video game. You become obsessed with the mileage and the battery charge graphic, trying to turn the battery green and keep the mileage over 50.

I heard a couple of kids walk past mine the other day, and one of them said to the other, "How come you never see a Bush sticker on hybrids?" I laughed so hard!

17. Very funny.
I have seen a "Bush Lied" sticker on a 2004 Prius in my parking garage.

A "Jake the Alligator Man" sticker is waiting for my Prius.

23. I almost put a #3 and #8 on it
Thought NASCAR on a Prius would be funny, and #8 seems to hate Bush, too.

18. I thank you for your endorsement
and am happy to report that I see so many hybrids on the road here that it is gradually restoring a bit of environmental optimisim to my gloomy mind.

20. I don't have a hybrid. But I did inherit my mom's VW Golf, which
gets somewhat better mileage than our SUV.

And I plastered it with bumperstickers today: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=3247306&mesg_id=3247306

Now, all I need is a license. *g*

19. Congrats! I got one last week
Remember you get a $2000 tax break for this year.

My employer also give me money back every month under their ride-share program. It more than makes up for the increase in my insurance.

GO to http://www.priuschat.com tons of info there.

:hi:
