Any DUer's in the West Palm Beach area? |

Going to be down that way in a couple of weeks and then down south to the Keys. So...other than going out to Palm Beach and pissing in Pigboys front yard can you suggest sites to see??
We'll only be in WPB for a couple of days and then hitting the road. Thanks in advance!

I live in Jupiter, which is very close to WPB. Just a few miles away.
You can always go to the Denny's on Belvadere Road where Rush's drug deals were orchestrated.
Clematis and City Place are probably the major attractions downtown. I'm not the most knowledgable when it comes to the party scene. I can't think of a lot that is terribly noteworthy.
If you want to know anything concrete, drop me a PM or email.
:hi:

4. Ya know if Rush was buying from the housekeeper... |
|
Then why did he have to meet in the Denny's parking lot?? Had the housekeeper quit,or was this when she was wired for sound??
I never heard the answer to that one.

City Place is way overrated and overpriced. Nice place to walk thru but so is Worth Ave. in Palm Beach, just across the bridge. Lake Worth Beach is most beautiful. For great steak - Beeffeeder's, Forest Hill Blvd (well kept local secret) just off I95. Beautiful, repeat beautiful zoo and gardens in PB Zoo on Summit Blvd. (in town but not). Flagler Museum (Henry Flagler) in PB is stunning. What is your liking? Sightseeing or night life?

3. Thanks for the tips..... |

More into sightseeing than the nightlife at this advanced age of 50,although the wife and I always take in a nightspot or two it sure isn't like the old days when we met in our twenties.
BTW,flew down to WPB last February and bought a car that I purchased off of E-Bay. The lot is south of the airport a little bit--was called Concours Auto back then, although on E-Bay their now call Off-lease Auto. I believe its across the street from one of Trumps resort/golf course things.
Bought a 2000 GrandAm for our daughter, got one hell of a deal on it and drove it 1600 miles back home to Wichita. Great trip except for that pesky blizzard in Oklahoma City.
Thanks again!

5. I second all of bandy's suggestions. You won't be sorry. |
|
All in all it makes for a lovely day, or weekend if you're lucky.

I live just a few miles from Lion Country Safari and visit it often. I highly recommend it. It is fairly inexpensive compared to most parks, is one of the first of its type. (No major theme rides or any of that sort of thing.) The emphasis is on the animals.
If you get a chance just ride out to Belle Glade to see the sugar cane fields. They are burning and harvesting this time of the year but the fields are still beautiful to see. Lake Okeechobee is also in Belle Glade. If you are into fishing that's a good place to go.
