In defense of sniffa

ALL I know is that I've aLways enjoyed his posts. Whatever happened, I sincereLy hope that the mods and the iLLustrious administrators will consider his appeaL., that is whenever he gets around to sending one.

I aLways found his posts most entertaining, funny, peculiar, and most evocative. He's a totaLLy sweet human being, as far as I can teLL.

My, it truLLY is reaLLy weird to post with capitaL "L"'s. That might expLain his essentiaL probLem. . . reaLLy.

Whatever his gross transgression was. . .can't we perhaps forgive him?

Who many people who Liked him aLot. HeLL, I don't bLame them, I didn't know him incredibLy weLL but we knew each other weLL and met in the big Boston meet up last month and he was reaLLY cool to me, even giving me a ride from where I was staying in Boston over to Cambridge Friday night. He's gonna be missed big time, and I hope he comes back. Oh and yeah steLLa, it is weird to talk in the captiaL L's, but I will be doing it in his honor I think.

And I'm siding with The Princess, at least initially.

Yes, I know she went to another site and badmouthed some DUers. Hell, a common enemy makes friends out of anyone if the people are sufficiently out of their wits.

I can't condone her going to another site to be mean, but she got a raw deal too. And the description of the offensive pic was clear, obvious, and understandably very hurtful. I can see how it would be seen as a personal attack, especially as how it was described.

All in all, the whole affair was TRAGIC for all involved.

I will miss them both.

But many people are personally attacked. Ranting about issues is one thing, but personal attacks are wrong. The rules, section 2, makes this damn clear. You don't attack or stalk other people (sniffa didn't stalk but the pic, as described, was a personal attack - as with other DUers, I've had my own bad experiences too. And I wish Princess hadn't gone to other sites just to stir up trouble; she'll find her newfound friends may not be so friendly in the long term.)

It's just tragic. For everyone involved.

that's his sole offense here. A stupid thing to do, but there it is. If I hadn't completely ignored her posts for the past few months, I have no idea what I may have stooped to if pushed. Of course, that's why I've ignored it all. When someone presents their appearance as the most important facet of them, it does make a tempting target for people acting from their emotions and not their good sense. Doesn't make it right, just makes it forgiveable.

he was an idiot and reposted it in a later thread... no less offensive, but less directly offensive, if such a thing exists. IMO he did something he shouldn't have done, but weighed against his past contributions and weighed against the baiting he faced, I think it's forgiveable.

To be honest, I wasn't here when whatever happened happened. However, I've seen some other notable DUers banned only to return a few days later.

I met Skinner & Earlg and I don't believe they sit around and just perform random acts of tombstoning. I'd like to think after a cooling out period of a day or so that our beLoved sniffa will be back with us.
