I just got a new book on the Seven Years' War called Empires at War: The Seven Years' War and the Struggle for North America, 1754-1763. I'm not reading it as an assignment, or for any other reason than sheer pleasure. Does that make me an odd duck? Answer honestly. :P

1. Yes, but it also
puts you in good company. History buffs are almost always good people.

2. I've often found that to be true.
I've met very few history buffs who were total assholes. When I do, they're nearly always Republicans. :D

3. Maybe... what is your major??
It depends...if you are going to eventually do a Thesis/Dissertation about it, then it is not wierd. if you aren't.....

5. History.
So, it's not totally weird, I guess. And the Seven Years' War has always been very interesting to me as a possible subject for a doctoral thesis, eventually, so maybe not so weird after all. :D

That is very interesting reading. Probably get more out of it as you are not under the gun, so to speak.

6. It's definitely less pressure.
I just figured my break from books would've lasted a little longer, but I can never go far without having a book to read. :)

13. No way.
I'd like to learn more about the Seven Years War myself since I grew up in Western PA, where a lot of the action was during that time.

14. The most interesting thing about the Seven Years' War...
Edited on Sun May-15-05 03:57 PM by CubsFan1982
Is that George Washington started it. He engaged the French at Fort Duquesne, realized he was outnumbered and outclassed, and built a makeshift fort around his troops called Fort Necessity. It was basically a bunch of cut timber arranged in a tight circle around his troops. There's your Louisbourg! :P
