Did you know the First Baptist Church of Salt Lake City holds the Utah Pride Interfaith this June during Pride Week? That's where GLBT or even straight people gather at the local Baptist Church and have an Interfaith Service.
I don't think that would fly in the south, do you?
In past years the following churches have hosted the event in Salt Lake City:
Wasatch Presbyterian Church The Synagogue of Congregation Kol Ami Cathedral Church of St. Mark
Pretty cool stuff.

Down here about the only Baptists I run into (and there are tons of them) go to churches that are either part of the Southern Baptist Convention or basically hold their views. I figured it had to get at least a little better outside of the "Bible Belt" so that's cool to hear.

a few weeks ago when I accidentally ended up on a South Carolina Baptist church website. The website said they welcomed everyone regardless of sexual orientation, that everyone was welcome.
Who would have ever known with all the hateful divisive speech you normally hear from Baptist preacher folks.
