... honestly I think it's cause my parents were old (in their 40's) when they had me so I grew up assimilated to their friends who were also older and their leftover post-WWII culture.

14. Tom Terrific was a '50's cartoon character.
He wore an upside-down funnel for a hat. IIRC the cartoon appeared regularly on "Captain Kangaroo".

Really, I didn't know all of them because I rememberthem, though.

I certainly don't remember Sputnik, the songs I don't remember from when they came out...and some kids had hula-hoops for a while in the 70s...
