And it was fucking brilliant. The opening scene is great, the battles are great, the lightsaber duels are phenomenal, the story comes together perfectly, everything about it rules. If the last two prequels have turned you off you will not be disappointed in this one. Vader is one evil motherfucker and I love it. There was only one 10 minute or so sequence that was boring toward the beginning of the film after the opening scenes but once Anikan goes bad it just crushes. I'm seeing it again tomorrow so I'm reserving my judgment of whether or not it overtakes Empire as the best in series until after then. ROTS is a must see for those that enjoy this type of film.

the battles are cool.. but.. there is just nothing there. It's like eating marshmallows.. they taste good... but leave you empty.

8. Cool! Thanks for the dissenting review! |

So far all I've heard has been positive, and I never believe that when it happens.
I'll see it sometime next week, but I thought TPM and AotC sucked ass out loud.

Loved Ian McDiarmid in his role of Palpatine/Sidious... I always thought he was the best part of Return of the Jedi.. and throughout the New Trilogy I have consistently enjoyed him. I knew he would be excellent in Revenge of the Sith, and I was pleased to see I was not wrong. Glad to finally see him with a light saber. :)

It was fucking awesome. I knew it was going to own and it did.
So many awesome parts about the film --- no wonder Fox News is running specials saying "Don't go see it! It is a Liberal Jews attempt to smear the President!!11"

11. saw it at midnight and 3:00 am |

would've done 7am but just couldn't stay awake anymore. Everything was great. I had to see it twice just to take it all in. Did you see the Millennium Falcon? It was seen landing right when Anakin & Obiwan returned on their shuttle with Palpatine. When Anakin entered the opera you can see Lucas as a blue alien on the far left. The battle with the wookies was awesome! *sigh* if only THAT was in ROTJ as it should have been instead of the Ewoks.
My only complaint was too may important characters were edited out of the film. Particularly...

I dressed up as Shaak Ti... but had been told by someone who saw it at a press screening that she wouldn't be in it..... so that kind of upset me in advance.... but from what I understand she was not killed in the jedi purge so it didn't fit in with the other jedi death scenes....
Yeah and Qui-Gon was also supposed to be in it... and he had some really important stuff to say from what I hear.....
I am SOOOOOO tired.. wish I weren't at work.
But it was awesome... Portman was way better.. I really think she invested in this one... Christensen was awesome.. so was McGregor and McDiarmid was even better than I expected..... Loved the "sets", choreography, and the light side/dark side tettering of Anakin. But I can't say I loved it.... cause I am so sad its over and the subject matter was so tragic.... guess you get caught up in the story so much that you can't truly appreciate it....

Our good buddy Captain Needa was an officer on one of the republic ships during the opening battle over Coruscant in the book.
And I really really REALLY wanted to see Qui-Gon in the movie. *pout*

She came with me to see the first one (ep.IV) when she was just 3 months old, so I told her she needs to go with me to see the last one! At least this time I won't have to worry about poopy diapers! ;-)
