"Liberty University"
check out their list of possible infractions and the associated fines :

http://www.liberty.edu/StudentAffairs/index.cfm?PID=1378

for example :

Reprimands + $50 Fine

Attendance at, possession or viewing of, an "R," "NC-17" or "X"-rated movie
Deception

Entering the residence hallway of the opposite sex or allowing the same

Entering the space above ceiling tiles - this one really threw me.

and they have the nerve to call it "Liberty" Univ.; i guess "liberty is in the eye of the Rev. Falwell". sounds like a really crappy place to attend.

4. Lynchburg Va
I drove right past it this weekend. Jerry is expanding it across the road, he must have gotten another loan from Rev. Moon.

8. It's aimed at (some) Homeschooled kids....
I KNOW that people homeschool for many reasons. But these are the "Christian" ones.

The kids have been kept apart from the real world & Liberty University is intended to keep them "pure."

Who's quite religious but not conservatively in your face so went to Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri (Falwell got some sort of degree there). They had similar rules - no going to movies, no listening to certain radio stations, no watching certain shows, etc. which didn't fly with him since he's a movie junky and a very good amateur jazz musician. He even built a recording studio booth in his on campus apartment (and didn't take it apart when he moved out).

They also had a rule about no facial hair on the men, and he had a beard (and earrings, which he didn't wear outside his apartment). He went to our small farming town doctor - the only Jewish guy in town - and asked him for a note saying that he had some sort of skin condition that would flare up with excessive shaving. After explaining why he wanted it, the doctor said, "So basically you want me to lie to Baptists? *Pause* Okay." :)

I visited him once and attended some classes with him wearing tennis shoes and a Superman t-shirt (had a stache and goatee as well). I pretty much stuck out like a sore thumb. Plus I deeply offended one of his classmates when he found out I was living in Tulsa (his hometown) and asked me what church I went to - I said I didn't attend church. :)
