My hernia surgey is scheduled for June, 2. |
|
Its a one week recovery time, which works out great for I'm flying back to Boston on the 9th to close out Ma's estate.

2. It'll be fine. Its the easiest hernia to repair. |
|
Recovery time is the shortest too. I have insurance, for now, so I want to get it repaired ASAP. Thank you for your concern!

3. I've had three hernia surgeries ... |
|
One umbilical, one ventral, and the other to fix the first ventral ..
The umbilical was the easiest .... BUT ....
Dont expect to be doing ANY real work only one week after surgery ...
The 'one week recovery time' is just about getting up and about; it's about going back to work with 'restrictions' on lifting and movement ...
You CANNOT put pressure on the repair, or it will detach, and then you will be back in the same boat ....
TAKE IT EASY ... for longer than one week ...
Try one month, THEN ease back into working slowly ....
8 weeks before strenuous activity ....

5. My brother and my strapping young son will be doing the lifting when |
|
we clean out and close up Ma's house for sale. I'll be doing the work with the lawyer and judge, realtor, creditors.... June is the best month of the year in Boston IMHO!

I trust the surgye will go smoothly - and fully address the hernia. And I hope that your emotional strength is in full gear when you have to deal with the closing of your mother's estate - and all of the emotions that go along with such a task.
I hope that you have a support system to help you through these trying times, and if not- that you can use us to help support you.

7. My boys and my brother are a great support system to me. |
|
We'll pull it all together for this. This is the house my brother and I, along with my late youngest brother, grew up in. I'll be a bit sad but Ma wanted us to sell it. We all live in CA and she wanted us to make a few bucks on the sale to improve our lives.

take some time, as you are settling up the business side, to dwell in the memories of your history there. I am glald that you are surrounded by family in this time.

I always seem to find you at a late hour! Anyway...June 2nd is coming up, and that's good...Less time to wait and stew about the surgery...And that means that you'll be recovering much sooner than you'd originally thought, IIRC!
Really, the pieces of your summer are falling into place very nicely. The trip to Boston a week later should be OK, as long as you make sure not to do anything heavy that involves your abdominal muscles! I know you'll be careful, though...you sure as hell don't want to go through all this again!
I'm so pleased to see how all this is coming along...Take care, dear maveric...You are a special person to me.
