Crap....They cancelled Joan of Arcadia. |
|
Not that I didn't expect it, but I was hoping they would manage to salvage the show.

3. It was less preachy than "Touched By An Angel" |
|
I saw "Joan of Arcadia" a few times. It was ok....it only used a rubber mallet to hit you over the head with the religious stuff...unlike the sledge hammer "TBAA" used.
Still, CBS is on some sort of evangelical kick with these shows.

4. The first season rarely had anvils.... |
|
And left everyone (including Joan) why he asked her to do a particular task. Sadly the second season was not very good for the most part and got away from the formula.

6. The bad news--the show was cancelled. |
|
The good news--it will free up Amber Tamblyn to do other things. She's a very gifted young actress.

8. What, it wasn't religious enough? |
|
Feh. I liked that show. I thought it had a nice take on the subject, and I RUN from anything trying to hit me over the head with religion. I'll bet it was because the writers had Joan question things & be irreverent toward God.

that was a very clever show... the idea behind it was pretty interesting, although it did get a bit preachy at times. Meanwhile all those gross reality shows continue unabated. Sigh.
I watch so little TV anymore, just Gilmore Girls and the occasional PBS series.

9. I'll try not to celebrate too much, then... |
|
It's just that I loathe everything Barbara Hall has ever done. Hearing that Judging Amy (easily the most racist show on television) and Touched by a Self-Righteous Teenager are going off the air brings me almost more joy than I can contain.
But I am sorry that you won't be able to watch this anymore, since you enjoyed it.
